The CS-3816-8MP-V2 is the improved second generation of the varifocal CS mount lens for Marshall 8MP/4K-UHD cameras (e.g., CV380-CS, CV420-CS). Compared to the first version, it uses a higher-grade optical design with 13 elements in 8 groups, delivering higher sharpness, contrast, and color fidelity across the entire 3.8–16 mm zoom range.

The lens has an F1.4 aperture at the wide end and F1.6 at the telephoto position, a 4-pin DC auto-iris for automatic exposure control, and IR correction that suppresses chromatic aberrations. On a 1/1.7" sensor it covers a diagonal angle of view of 148° to 35.8°; on Marshall CV380-CS/CV420-CS cameras (1/2.5" sensor) the horizontal angle of view is 84° to 23°. Focusing is possible from 0.5 m to infinity, and the back focal length is 7.9 mm.
